About Testessen

Okay, from the beginning…

Test early? Test often?

“Dear Darmstadt crew, I’ve got an idea buzzing around in my head…”

That’s how the email began that Philipp (back then still at flinc) wrote some time ago to a colorful mix of agency folks and startup people. Because Philipp had (and still has) a constant stream of new concepts, designs, or interfaces that needed to be tested, but unfortunately often no test participants. Hence his plan: cold drinks, sponsored pizza, and a bunch of web workers who bring friends to eat and current projects to test.

If there’s a problem, make a party out of it.

And Philipp was right. Everyone had the same problem. Lots of projects and too little time for overly elaborate usability tests. After the first pilot event, it was clear: Testessen had to become a regular institution. And it did. Together with Tobi and Anna, Testessen became a traveling circus that since 2013 has been moving from agency to agency and company to company every two months.

Testessen for everyone!

Good projects market themselves. So it was no surprise that Testessen was constantly overbooked in no time. With heavy hearts, Philipp, Anna, and Tobi had to turn away more and more people from attending. It was time to expand. Step one was a Testessen team in Frankfurt, but the format was meant to grow beyond the borders of Hesse as well.

So: If you’d like to host a Testessen in your city, get in touch with us! Design, copy, forms—we’ll give you everything you need. For more user-friendliness.
